Last week we had a little adventure to Primary Children's. (no worries). Brooklyn had been to the dentist and they found a few teeth that needed to be taken care of. In order to do that, we thought it was best to have her under anesthesia, being that she is the strongest 2 year old I know, and wouldn't let anyone go near her teeth. We started out at about 9:00 in the morning, and filled out paperwork, then she was checked out by a nurse to make sure she was healthy, and to ask a few questions. She weighs 24 pounds, and according to the height measurement is as tall as Cinderella. (I am not really sure what the REAL measurement was though) :)
She got to play with bubbles and toys, get into some pajamas and was pretty excited to be wearing a bracelet with her name on it! She most definetely doesn't like being at the doctor, but was a trooper! We waited for a bit longer and then they gave her some medicine to make her somewhat sleepy and then they took her. The medicine didn't quite kick in, so she was VERY upset leaving us. To me, that was the hardest part. I had a few tears myself! :) We waited for about 1 1/2 hours until they were done, and then we got to go get her and stay with her until she was able to hold down fluids and wake up a bit more. She was such a BIG girl. She had no real pain afterwards, and only was sick for a few hours after we got home. The doctor said she might have sore gums for a little while, but it didn't seem to bother Brooklyn. She was eating graham crackers and being her happy little self by nighttime. It was quite a day, but we made it! I am just thankful that we were there for such a tiny fix, and that she is a healthy girly with a pretty smile!!!
