PJ party

The girls got matching jammies from auntie Lolo, and actually I needed a reason to get the camera out. It had collected a bit of dust. Aren't they the cutest! I think so!

Fun with Daddy!

In January we had a run in with unemployment.  (hence the absense from blogging), I started working full time which has been tough, but we've managed through and long story short Andy was able to find a job with Fed Ex and also accepted another job offer with GE. It will be great to have Andy working again, he definetely worked hard, and I know through  faith and prayer and lots of patience that these jobs were the ones we were waiting for. So while Daddy has been home the girls have found many opportunities to keep him busy.

the girls LOVE  Daddy's huts, apparently he must too!

one of our few snow storms........happened to be in March.

Brooklyn's birthday/New year's Eve

I cannot believe my baby girl is 6. That number has always kind of been a funny joke in our family. My dad used to ask my nieces how old they were. They would always say "six", my Dad would reply "sick". They would say "no, six".....and he would joke about it a few more times. So growing up we kind of did that with all the nieces/nephews. Now my girl is 6. She is loving kindergarten and has made alot of friends in her class. She is also learning alot, and does really well in class. For her birthday this year, we decided to have her family birthday party the day before for those with New Year's plans. She got spoiled as ever, and we had food and cake and icecream. She LOVES clothes, which is was she got alot of so that was fun for her. She also got a new coat and a 2 wheel bike. She had to test out her bike, her and Addison went out to ride bikes. I love this NO snow idea....I think this is her first birthday with no snow. After Christmas break she was excited to have her spotlight at school and tell her class she was going to have a big brother and was able to show pictures of things she loves, also Miss Farmer read Brooklyn's favorite book. I love my big girl, she is such a big helper around the house and with her sister. We love you Brooklyn!!! We hope you had a great 6th birthday!!! :)

For New Year's eve we usually just celebrate at home. This year we had my sister Cindy and brother and their families over. It was the first time that they both have been with us for New year's, and so we were really excited to have them! We ate, ate, ate and played Wii. We also started and finished a puzzle, which we all love doing. I think by the end of the night the kids were alot more alive than us adults, but we all made it to the new year. Here's to a great 2012!

New Year's Eve

Christmas 2011

Hurray for Christmas! We enjoyed many parties and get togethers over the holidays this year. Also with finding out we will be adding a lil man to our family was very exciting! Christmas Eve we spent with my family this year since we all had different church times on Christmas Day. We had our first "ugly sweater contest", which we think was a hit. Becca won in that event, she even had doilies on her sweater, Nice! We also had a white elephant game, and that was alot of fun. Later that night we went home and the girls were as gitty as ever, they were so excited! I just love seeing them so happy! We had talked to them about opening presents after we got home from our 9:00 church, and they were fine with that. So off to bed after putting out milk and cookies, and the "magic" santa key (since we dont have a chimney), and then some magic happened. Christmas morning we got all ready for church had a wonderful sacrament meeting and went home. The girls could hardly stand it, so we let them open a few from us, since we got them clothes, and got them changed for the day. We were all so hungry at that point that we put off presents for a bit and made a big yummy breakfast. By the time we got done with that it was almost noon. The girls were so patient, I was impressed.
We opened presents and let the girls play for a while. It was nice to relax and enjoy that time being home. Later that night we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Gerritsen's house for a nice dinner, and more presents. We had a great time being surrounded by family those few days! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Decorating for Christmas

The girls had fun decorating this year, they pretty much took control of decorating the tree! We only had to move a few ornaments......didn't they do a great job!

Snow Day!

Last week we had quite the snow storm, Heidi was so kind to go shovel for us. The girls were dying to go out with her, so 8:30 in the morning they were out playing. We made them some breakfast and hot chocolate and took it out to them, Brooklyn thought that was the coolest thing ever! They even made the cutest little snowman out in the backyard--which is SO fun to play in now that we have grass back there!

Addison's Indian day

At first, Addison had a hard time going to preschool, it has been nice for them to have some fun things planned to help her get there! Recently they had Indian Day, and the teachers paint up the kids faces and give them bows and arrows. Next week they will have a little Thanksgiving feast-which they all bring a little snack to share. I am so glad Addison loves preschool now!
